A mason, recruited from Yerevan in July 1215 to act as foreman for the repair works at the covenant.

He travelled with his apprentice Yezraz.

Soon after his arrival, he discovered a cleft in the rocks, north of the church, in which were found a number of bodies. See Examining the site for more details.
